“Warawa-mai (Child-dance)” is a dance, which the child before coming-of-age of Imperial court nobles dances to congratulate the gratefulness to the Emperor. This work of beautiful child dancing in the presence of the nobles at the grand occasion is depicted by Yukihiko’s brilliant color brush with novel composition. “Tsuru-uchi (Twang Bow-strings)” is one of the significant works of Shigyo Sosyu Collection, and it is truly divine painting depicting the ceremony of Shinto Shrine named Meigen-shiki (Twang Bow-string Ceremony) to clear-away wicked spirit. In this period toward Shiwasu (December, the year-end), this work shall clear-away the doubts in our heart and make us feel crystal-clear.

[Zanshin-sho (Mementos of the Heart)] – My Grandfather・Miura Giichi and his Waka Poems – will be on sale.

This time, [Zanshin-sho (Mementos of the Heart)] – My Grandfather・Miura Giichi and his Waka Poems – by the poet Miura Ryu, granddaughter of the imperialist・Waka poet Miura Giichi, will be published from PHP Institute, Inc. Miura Giichi is the personage whom Shigyo Sosyu highly esteemed from his young days, and in 2017 he cooperated in republishing Giichi’s collection of poems [Hiten (Sorrow of the Heavens)]. This book is one volume of the soul, which traces the not-known history of the Miura family together with Giichi’s Waka poems. And it is a valuable record depicting the not-known history of Showa period. Bibliography by Shigyo Sosyu “Contemplate on 〈Zanshin-sho (Mementos of the Heart)〉” is included in this book, and also he contributed his words on the book-cover strap.

Giichi’s poems seem to call out only to one who lives at the risk of one’s life. They are thus much grave poems. The author is challenging to such poems. Being his granddaughter, and as one woman, she is throwing herself into the existence of Giichi. I have continuously sensed the genuine human courage in this book. This courage seems to exist in the genealogy of Miura. This blood of courage is haltingly uncovered.
